Boomerang is one of my all-time favorite movies...I was inspired by Marcus Graham the fictional character played by Eddie Murphy.  A quintessential Ad exec with a great NYC pad, well appointed wardrobe and "the" ladies man.
But in reality...we don't have enough visible "Marcus Graham's" to tout.  Yes, we have advocacy groups like Ad Color who do amazing work by identifying and celebrating our talent, and there is even a network of diverse professionals called The Marcus Graham Project dedicated to the cause + a handful of black agencies with major clients who build great campaigns. But do a quick google search on "Black Ad Agencies" and tell me what comes up, its a virtual ghost town...Many Black Ad Agencies are now defunct, have outdated websites, and lack the panache of major general market agencies.  We need a makeover in this department.  Just having a few stakeholders at majors is not enough...our own boutiques, mid-size, and major agencies need a significant boost!
